Horizon Scanning Specialist (Innovation Accelerator & Regulatory Science)
The Horizon Scanning Specialist leads analytical and policy work to identify emerging healthcare innovations and translate complex evidence into expert scientific and regulatory advice. The postholder works closely with senior colleagues, technical experts, and external partners to support prioritisation, governance, and the development of the agency-wide horizon scanning function. Day to day, they critically appraise diverse information sources, produce high-quality outputs, and help shape regulatory policy for transformative health products. This permanent role sits within the Innovation Accelerator Function at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

- Experience in horizon scanning, futures, or intelligence work
- Proven track record in using structured approaches to assess trends
- Skilled in synthesising complex information from multiple sources
- Experience using AI tools or data visualisation is desirable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical or analysis-related discipline
Nationality requirements
Open to UK, Irish, Commonwealth, EU and Turkish nationals with appropriate rights to work in the UK.
