SDA Safety Lead
The Submarine Delivery Agency is seeking safety leads to work directly on the Submarine Nuclear AUKUS programme, which will replace the Astute class hunter-killer submarines. The role involves assessing and approving nuclear safety cases, managing safety assurance, and collaborating with stakeholders and regulators to ensure technical compliance. Post holders work within specialist engineering teams based in Bristol, guiding safety document content and managing hold points for component manufacture. This position plays a critical part in delivering complex nuclear propulsion programmes that maintain the UK's continuous at-sea deterrent.
What they're looking for
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineering professional affiliation
- Experience of system safety policy and management tools
- Substantial experience in a system safety role
- Knowledge from recognised system safety training courses
Qualifications
- Relevant Level 4 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience
- Member of a relevant Professional Safety Institute
