Test Engineer
Test Engineers design, build and maintain flagship services like Universal Credit and Working Age Benefits within the Department for Work and Pensions. Working in multi-functional agile delivery teams, they shape and deliver automated test solutions to ensure products consistently meet the needs of agents and claimants. The role involves collaborating with colleagues, supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and embedding usability, accessibility and security into development. Postholders challenge assumptions to improve product quality and report progress to relevant stakeholders.
What they're looking for
- Demonstrable skills in Java and/or TypeScript and modern engineering practices
- Experience building and maintaining automated tests against UI and APIs
- Understanding of the testing lifecycle from business needs to production
- Adaptable team player understanding agile ways of working and shift left principles
- Knowledge of non-functional testing including performance and security standards
