Volunteering and Community Engagement Officer
The Volunteering and Community Engagement Officer balances community outreach and volunteer management to ensure woods are welcoming, safe, and utilized by local communities. This role provides specialist support to volunteering opportunities across forest beats and recreation sites, increasing participation in line with strategic goals. Responsibilities include creating district volunteer plans, recruiting and supporting volunteers, coordinating corporate and shadow volunteer programs, and leading community engagement initiatives. The post holder collaborates with staff, community groups, and partner organizations to develop engagement packages, manage budgets, and promote safe working practices.
