Ministerial Correspondence Team (MCT)
As a drafter in the Ministerial Correspondence Team, you will manage high-volume correspondence and draft accurate, clear responses for government ministers and senior stakeholders. You will work alongside colleagues across the Department for Work and Pensions to process sensitive cases within tight deadlines while upholding editorial standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve prioritizing urgent items, applying quality assurance checks, and participating in case-conferencing to support team delivery. You will also have opportunities to support gateway or freedom of information functions as required by business needs.

Nationality requirements
This job is broadly open to UK nationals, Republic of Ireland nationals, Commonwealth citizens with the right to work, EU/EEA/Swiss nationals with settled status under EUSS, and qualifying Turkish nationals.
Selection process
Candidates must first pass an online verbal reasoning test, followed by a personal statement sift. Successful candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview in Leeds featuring desk-tray exercises.
